Hello, I’m Edward Eastman. Living in Oakville, Ontario, I’ve been involved in photography for over 15+ years. Originally trained in film-based photography, I find the digital medium incredibly exciting. It mixes Polaroid’s instant feedback with the flexibility and power of the computer as a digital “darkroom” and an inkjet printer capable of producing high quality prints. It is in deed a photographic revolution.
While I still have and use a traditional B&W darkroom, I find the digital camera has renewed my passion for visual artistic expression. It has also afforded me the chance to share my knowledge and experiences with others through teaching classes at art centres, schools and private classes. I really enjoy teaching photography. It is through sharing with others that I too learn. It is very much a reciprocal relationship.
It is through this Blog I share my current work, projects, image processing, camera techniques, art, artistic ideas and philosophy. I look to you, the reader, to comment and share your ideas, concepts, stories with me and others. By building a community of “place” and “common interest” we all benefit and grow.
